I would agree with the other reviews that this app isn't accurate. Every phone microphone is different and the app cannot estimate it's balance. However, it is still usable. You can use this app to test for ear damaging sounds. But it does require some knowledge. A sound twice as loud is not twice as many decibels. It is actually 3 more decibels to be exact.

Unusable due to intrusive ads. Maybe it changed recently. It had good reviews several months ago. Each time I tried to use it a full screen ad pops up about every minute no exaggeration. Once I watched it for 15 minutes to see if ads would stop or change format. I suffered through more than 10 full-screen ads that can't be dismissed for 5 seconds and then need 2 or 3 presses to clear. During the ad the sound meter stops. It has no extra features that are worth paying for to justify removing ads.

The ads come on screen when I'm trying to use the app and with sound, if you guys must have ads please make them non intrusive without sound or watch an ad previous to using the app, it's a nightmare trying to view what's going on in real time and defeats the purpose of using the app if you can't find out accurately what the dB reading is because of ads running.
