How to log on to Mobile Banking
• If you’re registered for HSBC Online Banking, you can use your existing details
• If you’re not yet registered, simply download the app, then select ‘Register now’.

The HSBC UK Mobile Banking app lets you send money to family or friends using their account details or mobile number. Pay bills with pre-populated bank details for hundreds of major businesses. And instantly move money between your personal accounts.
Mobile statements
With the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app you can securely access your current account, savings and credit card statements.
Mobile cheque deposits
The HSBC UK Mobile Banking app lets you pay in cheques without going to a branch by selecting the account, entering the value then scanning the front and back of the cheque. Please keep any cheques until they show in your account. £2,000 per day. Cheques deposited before 10pm on a working day will be available by 11:59pm the next working day.
Block your card
Ever lost your card, only for it to turn up the moment you cancelled it? With the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app you can place a temporary block on your card with just a few taps. It will stay blocked until you unblock it, or it can be reported as lost or stolen.
Live chat
Need help or assistance? Select 'Chat with us' in the Support menu and, if you’re a Digital Secure Key user, we’ll send you an alert when we reply. So you're free to get on with your day.
Gambling restriction
You can choose to restrict transactions made to gambling businesses, such as casinos and online betting companies, and recurring transactions such as The Postcode Lottery. The block only applies to individual cards held in your name.

Unreliable. Fails 90% of the time. Used to work perfectly but not since the November update. I am running the latest Android version. Finally accessed my account after 19 attempts with the app crashing. At some point HSBC need to ask themselves. Is it us or everybody else? If the app isn't fixed I will change banks after 38 years. HSBC reply noted. However it will load after 10 to 20 attempts suggesting software up to date and it's the app that's unstable.

Very slow... I don't understand why the ratings are so high for this terribly slow app. The app hasn't seen any significant changes/updates in years. It takes a long time to open, and a long time to process your finger print/login info. For comparisson, I can open the Starling Bank app and be logged in within about 5 seconds. The HSBC app always takes atleast 30secs.

Updated review as this is still a terrible app. Unable to use some of the functions at all such as trying to deposit a cheque. Users interface is clunky and the constant generation of codes is annoying. Having to logout to generate a key to login on a computer is wasteful. They messed up the website to match the app and it wasn't worth it.
