I would agree with the other reviews that this app isn't accurate. Every phone microphone is different and the app cannot estimate it's balance. However, it is still usable. You can use this app to test for ear damaging sounds. But it does require some knowledge. A sound twice as loud is not twice as many decibels. It is actually 3 more decibels to be exact.

The ads come on screen when I'm trying to use the app and with sound, if you guys must have ads please make them non intrusive without sound or watch an ad previous to using the app, it's a nightmare trying to view what's going on in real time and defeats the purpose of using the app if you can't find out accurately what the dB reading is because of ads running.

Riddled with ads, including noisy ones you can't silence. I've had the app a little over a day and have enjoyed using it, except for the ads. While using it for about 30 seconds to get a reading on an area, I'll get about 2 ads. Then just now I got a full screen ad for some new Marvel Venom game that had shrieking heavy metal music in the background. I couldn't close the ad or silence it. A loudass inescapable ad is utterly unacceptable for a tool that measures sound volumes.
