About this game

Désiré is a poetic point-and-click adventure game in black and white.

When the schoolteacher asks Désiré why he didn't draw the sun like the other pupils, he replies spontaneously: « It's always night in my head. »

Désiré is colour-blind from birth and he will lead you into in world of black and white. He marches on hesitantly, as life never brought him much joy. From a tender age, he is going to meet several characters who will elicit in Désiré intense emotions and alter his vision in surprising ways. Is colour at the end of the road?

The game is, at its core, a critique of the modern world and of the perverting nature of a consumer, profit-obsessed society.

The game contains 4 chapters, 50+ scenes, 40+ characters and a lot of riddles.

« Ah... dear fellow traveller... I am so happy to meet you and to travel with you along this rocky path to let a surprising story unfold. Do not be too quick to judge! At least not before you know how it ends. This story is both rough and delicate... as repulsive as it is endearing... melancholy and joyful... but most of all, it is a tale that is deeply human and profoundly singular. So let me introduce this young, colour blind boy who, from birth, has only ever perceived the world in black and white. Colours, to him, are as abstract as faith to the atheist. Yet, they plagued his dreams, night and day! This boy's name is Désiré and his life path will surely surprise you. But enough chit-chat! Go and find out for yourself... »

Hi Sylvain and co., thank you for offering us this intriguing and heart warming story for free and even without any ads. I am a person who demands singular clarity in life. Everything needs to serve a purpose and every question must be answered in the end. However those works of literature that really stimulate me and stay on my mind are the ones that leave many open ends and questions for me to ponder by myself. This was one of those stories. Love it.

Its not a game for everyone. It does explore controversial topics and as it says it does explore some +16 (or even +18) tropes. I did use a guide as it was sometimes hard to figure out what to do but overall I really liked the realism of Désiré's struggle to understand colors, it doesnt give a rewarding ending as mainstream games but more of a message that you have to figure out for yourself... Its really well done overall.

Good game 9/10,But for gods freaking sake can you remove the bugs of the subtitles please, at a point of conservation, they just come to and fro. They just come and go automatically so fast that we cannot even read, and it's literally faster than a blink. I cannot solve this issue from settings too, cause it's a bug,it keeps happening even in slow subtitles. And for the last chapter which was the most important one I cannot even read the dialogues properly, making it an 2/10 for me,instead of 9/10
