Just started using this and it has been reliable, works in background and replaces my Eye-Fi app. So far, so good. Update, I've been using this for a while and its been very helpful while travelling. Years later, I still like this app. Automatic upload from phone is best feature. 5 year update: this is still great. i have excellent upload speed. Viewing also speedy.

App functions good, but there isn't much customization in the app compared to other photo / gallery apps. Not having the ability to automatically clear up local space on the device (such as Google photos) means that you will need to verify photos are uploaded before you can safely delete them off of your local storage. Other than that, app works great and quickly uploads media to Amazon. You can also toggle what type of media should be uploaded.

Absolute Waste of time. Can't upload photos from a folder. I can only select from 4 different folders and not the folder I wanted. I copied over all the photos that I wanted to upload in to a temp folder in the gallery. Went to upload and guess what. You can't. I was given the choice of my camera album and 3 others. Not the 13 or so albums I have If you think I'm scrolling through 5000 photos again to select the ones I want. NO CHANCE. Fix the photo selection. In the end I used the web to do it

We’ve updated our app to make it easier to revisit your favourite memories. Tap the smile icon to find your account info and customise Fire TV & Echo Show screens. Tap the paper aeroplane to share memories with friends and family. With this update, you’ll only see photos and videos that have been uploaded, so you’ll know exactly what’s been saved to Amazon Photos.
