The HP Print Service Plugin is the only print driver that you'll need to easily print documents, emails and pictures from print-supported applications to a variety of HP Printers, including HP OfficeJet, HP LaserJet, HP DesignJet, HP Photosmart, HP DeskJet and HP Envy.
You can discover and print to HP printers that are:
• Connected to the same network as your mobile device
• Broadcasting a Wi-Fi Direct network
• Connected to the mobile device via a USB On-the-Go cable
Just select Print or Share to PSP when you need to print. Just tap the menu button to reveal the print option. Location of menu button may vary depending on your model of Android™ device.
The HP Print Service Plugin simplifies printing on your Android™ Lollipop™ (v5.0) and newer devices. If you use Android 6 (Marshmallow) or earlier, you might need to enable the HP Print Service Plugin in your device's settings

It used to be a good printing app. As a truck driver it was great to be able to print out necessary paperwork with the wireless printer in the truck. For whatever reason it decided to quit working. I found a way to make it work but it was more of a pain than anything. I finally found an adapter for my phone and I just plug the cord for my printer directly to the phone. It's a whole lot faster than trying to wait for the phone or printer to connect on the wireless network.

Very frustrating. About half the time, it says printer is unavailable, and you have to do all kinds of stuff to print. UPDATE; One year later, there are still issues with it finding the printer. HP Smart is not very smart. Has issues on my phone app as well as the laptop. One time, it will print, the next, it says printer unavailable.

I have to scan using the app from my printer to my laptop because, after resetting my laptop, scanning from my printer to my laptop only creates jpeg files and will not "download" a PDF anymore. I cannot find anything in the app to put it back the way it was. Not HP's fault that my laptop was hacked, but wish it were easier to put things back the way they were. Otherwise, I enjoy printing from my laptop or phone at the touch of a button.
