About this game

Join Katrielle Layton in the heart of London, as she becomes embroiled in a casual, comical, quizzical quest, which has its roots in our new hero’s search for her missing father, Professor Hershel Layton. You’ll be whisked around London’s famous landmarks, from the Houses of Parliament to Tower Bridge, following Kat on her trusty bicycle, solving case after unlikely case, until she unwittingly uncovers the Millionaires’ Conspiracy.

Help Kat and company discover clues, unravel mysteries, deduce the truth, and solve original puzzles! Redecorate the agency and redress Kat in various outfits to suit the case at hand (or your mood). With twelve intriguing cases, seven multi-millionaires, and one whopper of a conspiracy, will Kat ever be able to find the missing professor?

Wanted to like this, but it's let down by writing - some incomplete puzzle info, but moreso big plot issues. The "assistant" who won't leave despite the woman he's obsessed with telling him she doesn't want help and showing no interest in him (played as cutesy "he's so shy/she's so oblivious!"). Or someone who literally faked a murder (police involved) being praised for being *so passionate* and let off with zero consequences and a "keep being you, you're great!". Couldn't keep going after that.

The games are nice but for some reason there's no audio from the cutscenes even though the bgm is there, I've checked the volume too just in case but it's at default settings. This needs some fixing. Edit: The audio ok after uninstalling and reinstalling back. Edit02: After playing for quite some time, the puzzles are interesting, but the beginning stories are not as good, some feels like a bit cut short and not explained well.

In the beginning i was really hit by how well the series was implemented on smartphones: to be later disappointed by the game itself. Puzzles are very bad, there is no logic, sometimes you don't have enough data to complete them (unless you use coins, which is not what they're meant for), sometimes they're just dumb and nonsense. Plot is poor, chats are not interesting. Music and graphics are ok, but, from a lifelong Layton fan, I feel like this game is way below Layton's standards.
