About this game

Dive into the rich tradition of Morabaraba, a beloved board game savored throughout Africa. Our customizable version caters to various rule sets, offering an immersive and varied gaming experience.

Rules Overview:

Morabaraba is played in three strategic phases:

Stage 1: Placement
- Each player begins with 12 markers called "cows."
- Players alternately place cows on vacant points on the board, striving to align three in a straight line—vertically, diagonally, or horizontally.
- Successfully forming a straight line of three, known as a "mill," enables a player to "shoot" an opponent's cow. However, a cow that is part of an existing mill is protected unless it's the only option available.

Stage 2: Movement
- Following the placement of all cows on the board, the game transitions into the movement phase. In this stage, each player takes turns moving their cows along the lines to adjacent vacant points.
- This movement is pivotal for rearranging the cows to form new mills and disrupt the opponent's configurations. Strategic movement not only blocks the adversary but also sets the stage for creating more mills.
- If during this phase a player forms a mill, they may shoot one of the opponent's cows that is not part of an existing mill. If all of an opponent's cows are in mills, a player may shoot any cow.
- A cow moved from one mill to form another cannot immediately return to the original point on the next turn to form a mill again. A different move is required first. (Optional)

Stage 3: Flying
- Once a player is down to three cows, they gain the ability to "fly" to any vacant point, significantly increasing mobility.
- The game concludes when a player cannot make a legal move or is reduced to two cows. A stalemate occurs if neither player can shoot a cow within ten moves while both have only three cows left, resulting in a draw.

Features:
- Compatible with various traditional games like Twelve Men's Morris and Nine Men's Morris.
- "Flying" rules variations included.
- Challenge our AI or manage both sides in solo play.
- Adjustable difficulty levels for all player skills.
- Import and export moves seamlessly.
- Fully customizable settings, including a range of color themes.

Beginner’s Strategy Tips:
- Prioritize controlling intersection points to maximize mobility.
- Steer clear of placements which restrict movement.
- Be alert to opportunities for double attacks, where you can threaten two potential mills at once.
