YMMV however for me the Google team earned themselves -10 points (ues, 10 out of 10 penalty points) with the recent updates to play store: surprised how they managed to complicate/destroy the user interface: filters in sub menus of sub menus for basic functionality. On the positive, this makes it so much easier to fully embrace the product of the competitors, regardless any of their shortcomings :-)

Terrible. It is a huge invasion of privacy. It took control of my phone overnight. No settings can be changed; it resets them as soon as you exit settings. If a change does hold, all the other apps are really messed up. I think a complete reset is needed for my phone. I'm not sure why my SIM card is not detected anymore. What are they thinking? Complete control of the microphone and always listening is not cool. A minus 5 stars.

It started to use up battery in last few days, on a Samsung device, for no apparent reason. Not only "background", but also "active" (like, 30-60 minutes per day). Maybe coincided with a system popup that appeared one day, about a new "find my device" feature (which I disabled). Unsure if the battery usage is Play Services itself, or something external that triggers it, but this app/module needs UI features to allow troubleshooting battery issues, which seem common enough.
