About this app

Circuit Jam is a puzzle game for learning electronic circuits from the creators of EveryCircuit. All five puzzle collections are now FREE and without ads!

Packed with sophisticated graphics and simulation technologies, this app makes electronic circuits remarkably interactive and approachable. There are over 100 puzzles that will take you for a fun and exciting ride. No... no getting deep into formulas or equations... just cool circuit games that take you from the very basic to keep-you-up-all-nighters. You will learn about voltage, current, resistance, capacitance and declare victory each time you win!

★ Challenge yourself with over 100 puzzles
★ Discover 10 essential circuit components
★ Check your homework answers
★ Invent your own circuits in sandbox
★ Get ready to smile as you learn

The objective is to build circuits that generate electronic signals of some shape. You will get to make connections, set component values, and operate switches to solve the puzzles. Circuit Jam will also teach you how to add and divide voltages and currents, work out equivalent resistance and capacitance, and use Ohm's law and Kirchhoff's laws. As you complete puzzles, new sandbox components are unlocked.

Sandbox mode lets you build any circuit you can imagine out of unlocked components. With sandbox you can simulate examples in class, animate textbook circuits, understand how they work, and check homework answers. Or maybe you'll just have a brilliant idea and invent a new circuit.

Essential components can be unlocked by solving puzzles:
• Resistor
• Capacitor
• Lamp
• Switches
• Voltage source
• Current source
• Voltmeter
• Amperemeter
• Ohmmeter

Definitely a great tool to help teach people with little to no understanding of how circuit design. However I feel the app may be missing the majority of its target audience, or at the very least boaring them to death. It's designed for novices, linear, and exhausive... it's kinda a drag. The topic is niche so its safe to assume the audience is already familiar, and beginners teaching themselves are clever little cookies. Forcing the spoonfed approach is just not a good idea in this instance ❤

Possibly a decent educational tool falsely advertised as free. You will be met by a pay-wall before you can even begin to learn about the most basic concepts of electricity which include voltage, resistors and so on. The "sandbox" mode (supposed to be used to create circuits) is a joke at best. It seems to feature a grand total of 2 components - a resistor and a capacitor, but even those can't be used freely as the game requires you to have unlocked them through progress, which costs money.

I don't know. Awesome idea on one hand, but for the price it's very short and basic, and even within the scope (current, voltage, switches, resistors, capacitors) it does not go to some interesting places, like using a capacitor to double the voltage, or basic RC circuits. I'm sure the Every Circuit engine is more than capable of handling such things and more, but apparently making circuits that will make for good puzzles is not easy.
