I wouldn’t have installed Alipay if I weren’t planning a trip to China. I dislike apps that sneakily add unnecessary files to my phone. The app adds an ugly Alipay logo wallpaper option that I can't remove. Who on earth will ever use it as the wallpaper? Most concerningly, since returning from my trip, I've experienced a suspicious increase in Alipay-related scam calls, as have my family members. This seems far from coincidental.

Handy app, which requires a lot of personal information and scan of your passport. You have to use this app in China, but you can not download it as they block half the Internet. Make sure to delete it as soon as you don't need it anymore. Deleting a metro card in the app does not work.

I am starting to wonder now if this is the real Alipay app or a hacker's copy version. It's suppose to be one of the most used apps in China, so it can't be that bad. But yes, I've also had bad experience like most people. My phone number was hacked. And got lots of scam calls saying I registered foe their financial insurance rubbish and I'll be charged $500 a mth for next 3 years. So much inconvenience now coz I have to cancl my credit card, block my bank acct, reset everything 🙄
