About this app

Android Switch is already installed on your Android device so you can securely copy photos, videos, contacts, and more from another phone or tablet during setup.

Plus, if you have a Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro Fold, you can use Android Switch to move your data anytime after setup, even if you don't have your other device.

App is automatically installed even though i do not own a Pixel 9 for my apps and data to trasfer to, which could be a possible privacy concern if misused intentionally or not. Runs in the background, as found by a running apps manager, with no way to completely uninstall Android Switch from my phone which forces it to run in the background. Not happy about these new pre-installed unremovable Google LLC app roll-outs on first boot of devices when new.

I "found" this app buried in my list of apps recently (I have a Samsung Galaxy S23+). I have developer options turned on so I can see everything in and on my phone. I do not need or want this. I do not own a Pixel phone. For those of us like me who don't, there should be an option to uninstall. Instead, I have to waste time disabling every feature I can. Why must I drag an app around not even meant for my phone? Not pleased.

If you try and disable the android switch app in settings it says you can't or other apps won't function right. But in the store you can either open it or uninstall the android switch app now which is it you can do. I don't ever plan on getting any kind of pixel phone so why do I even need that app it's not doing me any good but take up space and data. Get rid of the Android Switch App.
