Because of its attention to written storytelling, detailed worldbuilding and abundance of lore, Grim Tides can be similar to a solo Dungeons and Dragons campaign, or even a choose your own adventure book.

Grim Tides is a single player game and can be played offline. It has no lootboxes, energy bars, overpriced cosmetics, content locked behind endless microtransactions, or other modern monetization schemes. Just some unobtrusive ads, permanently removable with a one-time purchase, and completely optional goodies for those who wish to support the game and its development even further.

It's an alright game. Clearly made with heart. The combat gets boring quick & the game is quite casual, despite being promoted as old-school. The storytelling is not great, though can be immersive at times. The whole experience grows a bit stale, since the grind is a bit on the heavy side for such a monotonous experience. There are like a dozen popups promoting to support, they're quite distracting. Nevertheless, there are plenty of paths to take, things to "upgrade," and the AI art is gorgeous.

What a fun game, with so much more lore than I expected. Nice art is sprinkled throughout the game, the combat works great even though it does grow semi repetitive. At the end you will need most of your acquired skills and magic as enemies attack your physical and magical defense, they attack your morale and poison you. lovely game, and I've only just finished the main quest!

Very good. An improvement of the original. And really nice story. Edit: the naval battles and ship management are something I really enjoy. Is like being an adventurer in faraway lands. Everything works so well and the Skill tree and factions really open a lot replayability possibilities.
