Philips DreamMapper has access to the following permissions:

Location
Approximate location (network-based): This is to set up Bluetooth communication. A location is required to acquire the pair.

Photos/Media/Files
Read the contents of your USB storage: This is needed to access the scanned and stored image that the camera takes of the Device Serial Number (DSN).

Storage
Read the contents of your USB storage: This is a way to access the DSN image that might be stored on the SD card (some Androids devices store images to the SD card). This is the default behavior when you ask for the Photo/Media/Files access.

Camera
Take pictures and videos: Used to scan the DSN.

Other reasons
Receive data from Internet: DreamMapper needs to communicate with its Data Center.
View network connections: Wi-Fi setup as well as the need for DreamMapper to communicate with its Data Center.
Pair with Bluetooth devices: First-time connection to another Bluetooth device.
Access Bluetooth settings: First-time connection to another Bluetooth device.
Full network access: DreamMapper needs to communicate with its Data Center.
Prevent device from sleeping: Prevents the phone from “going to sleep” while playing videos.

Very poor is the management of the Bluetooth link. The app is waiting endlessly for data transfer to start, even when sitting close to the device. I have to manually interrupt and "refresh", where it starts again to download data from the device. Most of the time it will display the results, but even then sometimes it doesn't until I do another "refresh". Sonetimes the app forgets stored identity, and for the last days it will never recover the data from the dreammapper. Very poor product!!

It's a simple app that shows simple information. Unfortunately that is also its shortcoming. All the numbers are averages of the day. There isn't any way of seeing peaks, which are killing if you have them. It's dwarfed by the Sleepyhead program that give you an absolute ton of useful information, but that is a program, not an app. I wish.....

Worked great until 4/27. Stopped connecting via Bluetooth. Tried all steps to correct. Unit states it is connected via Bluetooth but app will not display results and sends me in an endless loop of frustration Update : still no update or fix. Don't even bother with this broken app. Uodate: issue fixed with update from a year ago. Unit has been working as it should for over a year
