About this app

"Rudzka mAPPka" is a city application presenting information about the most important monuments, historical places and industrial facilities, even those that no longer exist, in Ruda Śląska. It also presents well-known characters and eminent families, which had a huge impact on the development of the city. We will find there a lot of information, ethnographic and historical curiosities, legends, as well as suggestions for walking routes around the most interesting corners of each district. All this will allow you to get to know the history and architecture of the city.

The main thematic tabs: "Legends", "Objects of the Silesian Fortified Area in Ruda Śląska", "Aristocratic families", "Industrial plants" and "Polish-German border 1922" will make it easier to navigate through the application and select places and objects of interest to us. All objects have a precisely marked location on the map, they are varied with descriptions and rich iconographic material. Thanks to archival photos, we will find out what Ruda Śląska looked like in recent years and we can compare it to the present day. Many places are illustrated with photos of works by famous Silesian and local graphic artists and painters.

Other features of the application are field games and multimedia puzzles. They will allow interested, both tourists and residents of Ruda Śląska, to get to know the city from a slightly different angle. It is an excellent proposition for individual users, but above all for families with children or school trips. Education through play, discovering secrets, learning curiosities and solving puzzles is definitely much more attractive.
The project initiated by the Maksymilian Chrobok in Ruda Śląska, co-financed by the National Center for Culture as part of the "Culture in the network!"

All archival materials, photos and graphics come from the collections of the Maksymilian Chrobok in Ruda Śląska.
