About this audiobook

Humanity has spread itself out into the stars a century after an attack by the Dhale, a robotic alien race that almost destroyed humanity. In a final, colossal battle, the enemy forces were broken, sent scattered and retreating in every direction. Now these hunters have become the prey. Although they are still incredibly dangerous, Dhale weapons, alloys, and technology have become an important part of the human economy, especially on Earth. So, fearless human crews in specialized ships, hoping to make their fortune, throw themselves into harm's way in order to find, break, and strip these enemy ships of their valuable parts. A crew member of one of these ships, Lameshi, describes his experiences during one especially harrowing mission, spending months under the control of a mad captain bent on revenge against a machine. As the hunt brings the final battle closer, Lameshi learns the futility and horror of one mad captain’s battle against reality.

This book is auto-dictated by Google's AI. As such, it lacks the emotion and impact of a human narrator. To compensate, I have priced this audiobook the same as its ebook version.

Who hasn't heard of the great tale, "Moby Dick"? This is a retelling of Melville's legendary novel in a future maybe not too distant. Our central character, Lameshi broke, bored and swelling with cynicism for ordinary life longs to return to space. Returning to work in space is a cathartic experience some won't understand but it creates great potential for new and exotic encounters to sate the imagination....and the wallet If you're a fan of "The Wrath of Khan" you're going to love "The Dhale"! I genuinely wasn't expecting an action packed adventure of nonstop chaos and violence. Haab is a wickedly magnificent interpretation of the crusading hero. Haab is so charismatic and driven, all reality is twisted to her singular desire. But History is told by the victor.

About the author

Born to a loving family, Kim Aaron was abducted by Gnomes at five, and spent the next ten years folding underwear in a secret underground facility. Kim found the Gnomes great fun to play with and spent many a night around the lingerie fire listening to great Gnomish tales of adventure, intrigue, and dresser drawers. Having to work during the day, Kim was Gnome-schooled by some of the great Gnome intellects. Later, at Simon Fraser University, Kim learned Gnomes have a rather skewed understanding of both science and business administration. Head screwed on straight, Kim earned a BA (honors) and immediately decided to become a software engineer, tossing everything she'd learned up to this point in a dumpster. Now, semi-retired, she finds she gets bothered by things and so has to write them down, or they begin to ache like an impacted tooth. The most important thing she's learned in life? Those drawer locks on your dresser aren't just for babies.
