About this audiobook

In this gripping, high-octane sequel to The Line Between, which New York Times bestselling author Alex Kava calls “everything you want in a thriller,” cult escapee Wynter Roth and ex-soldier Chase Miller emerge from their bunker to find a country ravaged by disease.

Six months after vanishing into an underground silo with sixty-one others, Wynter and Chase emerge to an altered world. There is no sign of Noah and the rest of the group that was supposed to greet them when they surfaced—the same people Wynter was counting on to help her locate the antibiotics her gravely ill friend, Julie, needs.

As the clock ticks down on Julie’s life, Wynter and Chase embark on a desperate search for medicine and answers. But what they find is not a nation on the cusp of recovery but one decimated by disease. What happened while they were underground?

With food and water in limited supply and their own survival in question, Chase and Wynter must venture further and further from the silo. They come face-to-face with a radically changed society, where communities scrabble to survive under rogue leaders and cities are war zones. As hope fades by the hour and Wynter learns the terrible truth of the last six months, she is called upon again to help save a nation she no longer recognizes—a place so chaotic she’s no longer sure it can even survive.

With Tosca Lee’s signature “beautifully written and deeply unnerving” (Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author) prose, A Single Light is a breathless thriller of nonstop suspense.

Either by a stroke of luck, in which I don’t believe, or because of persistent begging, I happily received a galley of Tosca Lee’s newest novel. A Single Light, the sequel to The Line Between, was a welcome addition to my reading list. I tried to pace myself but still devoured it in three days. I admit I was excited to read it as I completely enjoyed the characters and plot development in The Line Between. Tosca is a great story teller. I was not disappointed with the sequel in the least. As much more a reader than a line editor I focus on the flow and connectivity of the story, scenes, and how they come to rest at the end of the tale. If a story grabs me I cease seeing the punctuation. I fall in and swim with the current. A Single Light had some calm eddies and some Class 5 white water so you won’t get bored. Just try and hold your breath! I again saw one of the reasons I enjoy Lee’s writing so much. As with her other solo works, there is a gravity about her writing that pulls readers in and along with it. A Single Light is no different. There is an eloquence of purpose in Tosca Lee’s words. Each scene, each bit of dialogue, each character interaction seems like it’s going somewhere. I don’t know how much this is due to her skill in the writing craft or if she simply has a knack for it. Words are not wasted. The characters are solid with a sampling of just about every type of personality out there. Some old, some new, and some...well, it seems Tosca is not afraid to kill off some really good characters. But in an apocalypse good people gotta die right? Once again Tosca Lee has written a super enjoyable, well thought out thriller. There is only one recurring issue I have with her books. They end. I definitely encourage readers to get A Single Light, ASAP. Wynter is coming again!

This is an amazing/haunting/exciting/scary/fun look at what life could be like after a horrible disease ravages the US and makes everyone revert back to times they can't remember, without lights/gas/food/light/etc. This is an intriguing story that keeps you guessing and will have you wanting to read more and more. This is a great read and the series is amazing. If you haven't read the first book start there it is called The Line Between. Dive into the journey and enjoy. 5 Stars!

This sequel to The Line Between was thrilling to read and very hard to put down. There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Very well done, making it an exciting adventure. There is action, despair, love, loss, deceit, fear of the unknown, determination, sacrifice, fierce bravery and the strong will to survive. This story feels so real, deep in your gut. This is what it looks like when people are struggling to survive with limited resources. The characters are beautifully written and so easy to connect with. I didn’t want to leave them. I didn’t want to close that last page. Another exciting and wonderfully written story by Tosca Lee! Thank you to NetGalley, Howard Books and Tosca Lee for my advanced digital copy of A Single Light. I loved it so much that I had to preorder my very own hardcover copy!
