A Vietnam Tour of Duty

The year is 1968—the place is the A Shau Valley, Vietnam. U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Bill Jennings is just doing his job the best he knows how. Watching over his men, trying his best to keep them supplied and safe, pushing them when he has to, and listening to their gripes /troubles when they come to him. He is a man focused on getting the job done and hopefully, going home in one piece at the end of his tour.

When one of his men comes seeking advice about getting help kicking a heroin problem, he assures him he will get him into a rehab program with the medical unit. But when he mysteriously O.D.'s the next night he suspects someone with something to hide spiked his dope. Jennings vows to track down the culprits and make sure they pay.

In a parallel life path, young Quang Hoang was only 14-years old when the South Vietnamese soldiers swept through his village. All he knew in life was growing rice in his rural farm...but now war was here. Many guns and Viet Cong supplies were found hidden in his neighbor’s huts, but he knew nothing about them. The soldiers arrested several men and women, and the rest of them were marched away to live somewhere under the eye of the military while their village and homes were burned to the ground. Quang's parents were killed and now he would have to fend for himself...his entire world has been turned upside down.
