From a National Jewish Book Award finalist: A Jewish man and a Black woman find love against all odds, in this novel set during the Leo Frank trial in the twentieth-century American South. Nine-year-olds Max Sassaport and Ruby Johnson are best friends who can't imagine a world where they aren't together. The bond between them is still strong, but with the trial igniting racial tension throughout Atlanta and across the nation, do Max and Ruby dare dream of a future together?

Born on the South Shore of Boston, Massachusetts, Mary Glickman studied at the Universite de Lyon and Boston University. She is the author of Home in the Morning; One More River, a National Jewish Book Award finalist in fiction; Marching to Zion; An Undisturbed Peace; and By the Rivers of Babylon.
Alexandra Cohler is a witty, whimsical chick with a snarky sophistication-the flirty girl with a tomboy edge. She specializes in language-driven pieces and has a special place in her heart for romance and historical settings. Fluent in French and English, she is adept at character voices and various accents.
