About the author

Alan MacDonald started his working life in a travelling theatre company. In addition to writing and directing plays, Alan trained as a drama teacher. He has written stories and dramas for the BBC (both television and radio), as well as many children's books. Alan lives in Nottingham.

Evelyn McLean is an English narrator who specialises in children's fiction. She has previously narrated many titles in David Roberts and Alan MacDonald's hugely popular Dirty Bertie series, as well as titles for Hilda Offen, Rhiannon Lassiter, Pete Johnson, Annette and Nick Butterworth and Tina Nolan. Evelyn has also narrated young adult titles Minna's Quest and No Turning Back by K.M. Peyton.
