In the first chapter of the book, we can read how a president sets the tone for everyone in an organization.
If someone wants to understand American life and American politics, they can do that by studying the dynamics between the president and the people. The American president is the leader of the American people. However, they are a president, not a king.
Before the executive system became what it is today, many schools of thought arose. James Madison admitted that the executive structure was a common problem. Alexander Hamilton had a suggestion: that a president should be elected for life. Regardless of the clashes, the schools of thought went through, each of them came to the agreement that the president of the United States needed to be a person who was born on American soil. This meant that the scholars knew the importance of the president. This was a lot more than just function.
Later in this chapter, the author of the book writes that the current president of the United States- Donald Trump is rather different. The report from the New York Times wrote that before President Trump took his oath, he apparently told his staff that every of his presidential days are like a show in which he will vanquish his rivals.
