Anslem Douglas was raised in the small village of La Romaine in Trinidad. He served in the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard for six years then pursued his passion for Soca and Calypso music. Today he is a successful singer/songwriter, winning the Best Caribbean Style Artist at the 2014 Black Canadian Awards and on the world stage most notably for the Grammy award winning song Who Let the Dogs Out. In 2018, Anslem decided to expand his writing talents to this, his first children’s book. Anslem recently released his song Break That Cycle in support of stopping domestic abuse.
