Leila Meacham (1938–2021) was a retired high school English teacher from San Antonio, Texas. She found literary success in her seventies with her debut novel, Roses, which became an instant New York Times bestseller. She continued to publish bestselling novels such as Dragonfly, Tumbleweeds, Somerset, Titans, and more.
