Audrey Carlan has gone and done it again!!! To Catch a Dream is the second book in Audrey’s Harlequin Romance Wish Series, and she did not disappoint! In To Catch a Dream we get Evie’s story who is the big sister to Suda Kaye from What the Heart Wants. We not only get Evie and her hunk of an alpha Milo Chavis’s story, but we also get to catch up with the characters from What the Heart Wants and we even get introduced to a whole new group of characters in this amazing story. Evie Ross has spent her life resenting the women in her family because they are always leaving her to “spread their wings”. Growing up on the Reservation with her grandfather and her sister because her mother was never around for long was extremely hard on her especially when her mother lost her battle with cancer when Evie was 20 and Suda Kaye was 18. Then after turning 18 her little sister and best friend left her to “spread her wings” like their mother had, except she was gone for 10 years. Now her sister is home, owns a beautiful boutique, and is married to her high school sweetheart. It’s not time for Evie to finally let herself have the love she has denied herself her entire life. She has been in love with Milo Chavis since she was 8 years old and he was 12 years old. She always believed he could never love someone like her especially since she was a “half breed”. Milo is about to show her how wrong she is because what she doesn’t know is that he’s been in love with her his whole life as well. He is about to prove to her that he will not be going anywhere and that he will be there for every new journey in her life. I finished this story by Audrey Carlan a few days ago. I couldn’t write my review right after because I just couldn’t find the words. I’m still not sure I have the right words to describe this story, and I’m rarely without words...lol! This story between Evie and Milo was so beautifully written. There are few books that you not only read, but FEEL, and this is one of them. Evie has grown up in a very unconventional way and it’s left her emotionally scarred in a way that even she doesn’t completely realize. It’s not until long time crush Milo comes into her life just wanting to love her that Evie’s insecurities really surface. Milo is the perfect match for Evie. He’s known her since she was a young girl and understands everything she’s been through. He’s incredibly patient, loving, and kind, which is what Evie needs. I have read and loved so many books written by Audrey Carlan, but this story between Evie and Milo touched me on such a deep emotional level that it has become my favorite! Her words brought this story to life. You can’t help but feel all of Evie’s emotions and insecurities. You knew that Milo would have his work cut out for him, but you couldn’t help but root for him to win her heart! And boy, does he ever. I can not say enough good things about this story. The bonds of family and the beauty of true love are what this story is all about.
