This was a really sweet romance, and its been a while since reading an inexperienced male, so it was a refreshing change. This is the second in the series and is a standalone, but the series does include 3 friends, so if you don't want spoilers I'd recommend reading the series in order. IT tech Sam would love to ask Joy out, but shyness holds him back, so when he has chance to help her out, it gives him the push he needs to grow their friendship. Joy pulls out all the stops to encourage Sam to make a move, and at times, it felt like she was pushing him too much, rather than talk to him she seemed to push him into uncomfortable situations. He also has to deal with her complete over-sharing with her friends, which would test anyone's trust. I loved seeing Carter again from book 1, he was the comedy element in this story. The ending was super sweet, but I just didn't think suited Sam at all, but they get their HEA. I loved the duel narration, it really helps pull you into the story.

This was a great addition to the series. The characters were endearing and kept me entertained. The narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life and made this a pleasant listen. I received a copy of the audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

At first, I was slightly bummed this didn’t follow the couple from the first book. I don’t know why I thought this would be the case, it hasn’t been with any other Ayla Asher/Rebecca Hefner book I’ve listened to. I notice a lot of the characters in her books and their romance reminds me of my lifemate and me. I guess we just have similar tastes in men. Sam reminded me more of my lifemate than any other character though. It amused me how they both had feelings for each other, they both knew it,
