About this audiobook

She can’t lose him again…

One look at his warm brown eyes and Kate Jackson knows she’s found her husband. It’s been twenty years since Daniel went missing in a refinery explosion and was finally declared dead, but Kate never gave up hope, convinced he was somewhere out there, suffering from amnesia. Then, on a trip to Buckhorn, Montana, she sees him—working as a carpenter, scarred, but still her Danny. Yet Jon Harper, as he calls himself, insists he’s a stranger.

Jon is certain he’s not the man Kate’s looking for. Though some of his memories are lost in shadow, how could he ever forget a woman like that? One thing Jon’s instinct does tell him is that she’s in danger from the very person she should trust most. Helping loyal, lovely Kate will mean exposing his own perilous past…but it’s the only way to protect her and this new chance at forever.

Don’t miss Under a Killer Moon, the next title in B.J. Daniels Buckhorn, Montana series where one small-town marshal will stop at nothing to catch a killer.

Out of the Storm, the first book in the Buckhorn, Montana series, is one of the most emotional and action packed stories I have read in a while. Kate Jackson became a widow twenty years ago when an explosion in his place of work supposedly killed her young husband. His body was never recovered and she has always felt he is still alive. But life went on and now that her daughters are adults, she’s gotten engaged and is on a surprise trip with her fiance. When they stop in Buckhorn, Montana to get their rental repaired , Kate sees Jon, a man with her husband’s eyes. The twists and turns in this story will have you on the edge of your seat. The fiance has an ulterior motive, Jon is hiding from danger, but realizing that Kate might be in danger, is determined to keep her safe. The story was engaging from the first page to the last and the characters well developed. In the middle of the action packed plot, there are times that your heart will break for Kat and Jon. I can’t wait to read more stories by this author. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I know I can always count on anything B.J. Daniel's writes to be a fantastic read that I will finish in one day, no matter how long it is! I get sucked in by the first page and I can't stop reading! It was the same with this book. I felt this story was just a little bit different than other book by Daniels but neither good or bad, just different. I like that! It keeps the reader engaged! I loved all the characters, both good and bad ones. They were well-developed and added a lot to the story. I've always heard that people can feel deep in their hearts if a love one's body is not found, if that loved one is still alive or not. Such is the case with Kate Jackson. Her husband supposedly died in an industrial fire 20 years ago but his body was never found and she feels in her heart that he's still alive. Several times she thought she saw him. Just as she finally feels it's time to move on and gets engaged to Collin, they go on a trip to Montana where they break down in a small town and Kate happens to see a man whose eyes looks just like her dead husband's. There begins an adventure that has dangerous repercussions. Although the man, Jon, adamantly says he's not Kate's husband, he is touched by her story and feels a pull towards her. What will happen when he discovers that Collin isn't who he says he is? Will he stick his neck out for this stranger who says they used to be married? Such a great book and I enjoyed the characters in the small town of Buckhorn! Can't wait for the next book already!
