Forty-something, Maggie Sharpe, is returning to her quaint childhood town of Dogwood Mountain, Missouri, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Maggie recently inherited Dogwood Bakery, along with a cute little cottage, from her aunt Marjorie. With a son in the Navy, deployed six months at a time, and an ex in Kansas, Maggie decided that it was time for a change, but she soon learns that life back home is not all sprinkles and jelly filled donuts.
Maggie throws herself into running the bakery and making a living for herself, but the baking grinds to a halt when a body is discovered in the alley behind her new shop and a whole host of small town secrets surface as a result of the investigation.

She pens her delectable books from her cozy office in Vermont when she’s not curled up with a new novel or cheering on her local hockey team. Emma’s son and daughter are grown and she has three adorable grandkids, but they live far enough away that she’s actually considering acquiring her first pet. Winter is Emma’s favorite season, and she has a rather unusual hobby—she loves milkshakes and will travel to different locales to try new flavors! Rebecca Gibel is an award-winning stage, television, and voice actress, who has narrated over fifty audiobooks in a wide variety of genres. She has worked across the country at theaters such as Trinity Rep, Cleveland Play House, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Intiman Theatre, and the Arden Theatre Company. She holds a BA from the College of William & Mary and an MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep.
