A previous reviewer said "where in the Bible did Jesus say we should not have children? I think the author may have made some theological errors". While the fact that this book was thought provoking for them is good, I don't believe this perspective to be fair or accurate. Per the text given on the website, the author states "We are also warned that those of us who are married should plan to stop having children as we see this time approaching – Jesus specifically warns that we should not have a small baby with us during this time of persecution". The above paragraph 118 references Matthew 24:19, which advises against having young children during the time of the end of the world. This admonition is just one of a set given in Matthew 24. Other statements in the same chapter advise against retrieving personal possessions (verses 17-18), fleeing from the trouble of the end of days in the winter or on the Sabbath (verse 20), and those that are in Judaea to run to the mountains (verse 16). To suggest that the author is telling people to simply not have children is a misrepresentation of fact. Jesus never said to simply stop having children, but rather advises against it during a specific upcoming time in earth's history for the purpose of making His followers' escape less burdensome. If you argue that this means to stop having children, then you could just as well argue that the author is suggesting that we should not buy anything, or that we should all move to a climate where there is no cold weather.
