The main character is read monotone, with no inflection, or emotion even when it's obvious the author is intent on convaying an emotional response. The narrator also leaves a pregnant pause after every word, as if the author had placed a period after every word. The reader sounds as if they are imitating text to speech program from the early 2000s. The side characters sound as if they are read by real humans, but the lead leaves me with a strong implication it was simulated with AI. if one does wish to attempt this audio book I advise increasing the playback speed by 20%.
