Dream Big: Know What You Want, Why You Want It, and What You’re Going to Do About It

Christian-Based Self-Help Audiobook Review: Before I requested this book from one of my favorite book review sites, I had not heard of the author. But I do find listening to self-help audiobooks enlightening, so I was curious about what he may have to say. I hadn't realized before starting it that it was so very Christian. While I have been one in the past, I am not now. Because of these faith-based underpinnings, some of the author's suggestions didn't quite make sense for those of us who aren't Christian. But I like the way he focused on just what the title says, dreaming big. What is it you truly want to do? What will give you a sense of purpose? How can you help the world? The author seems to have a plunge-ahead attitude that has certainly worked for him but wouldn't necessarily work for everyone. He blends both the self-help aspects, directly helping the reader, and stories from his life that give deeper insight into a particular idea he has shared. The author narrates this book himself, so it feels like you were just having a conversation about his ideas with him as he shares his stories. If you like that kind of self-help book, with the author’s stories from his life as well as ideas that could apply to yours, and you are Christian or don't mind reading a book that is so strongly one influenced by faith, you might find this book a fascinating read or listen. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
