About this audiobook

Sixteen was supposed to be about fast cars and first kisses, not plotting a heist that might get me killed.

As a scrawny goat shifter in a pack of werewolves, my role is to get into places they can’t go. The alpha who took me in after my parents died molded me into a master thief. For four long years, he’s lined his pockets, while I’ve taken all the risks.

Now he’s sending me after the magical artifact he’s chased for years. This is my chance to escape. All I have to do is pull off the biggest heist I’ve ever attempted, escape the seethe of vampires I’m about to rob, and ditch the wolves who watch my every move.

To walk away from this job alive, I better prove I’m as good at getting out of trouble as I am at wading into it.

Boneyard Thief is the prequel to the Riley Cruz series about a goat shifter who steals magical artifacts. If you like fun, fast-paced urban fantasy with quirky characters and a dose of slow-burn romance, this is the book for you.

What a great introduction to the main character Riley. We get to know her and her situation, and get a little action with a heist. All while remaining a fast paced and exciting short urban fantasy. Shifters, vampires, and witches oh my! A refreshing change from the usual shifter stories that are out there. I was provided with a review copy of the audiobook and this is my honest opinion. I am looking forward to continuing on the series. I also plan to check out Kali James, the previous series.

I just listened to this book after having read it last summer and my previous review did not do it justice! Riley is a teenage goat shifter living with a controlling alpha wolf, Carl, who has trained her to become a thief. Now, at 16, she needs to pull the biggest heist yet. And this is where she sees her chance to escape. If you have read the Kali James series (and if not, why haven't you?!), you already know Riley. This is look into her past and how she managed to make it to KC from Santa Fe.

I have read this book before but hearing it come to life in audiobooks was a treat. I love Riley with her cunning mind and quick wit. Seeing her as a vulnerable teen is heart breaking but also a perfect glimpse at her roots. This is a novella and only about 2 hours long so it is a quick listen but a full adventure.
