Audiobook Review: Overall – 5 Performance – 5 Story – 5 Engaging and captivating audiobook! I don’t listen to a lot of YA books but there was something about the description for this one that caught my attention when I was offered a review copy from the publisher. Once I started listening to it, I couldn’t stop. I felt like I was watching a play, not listening to an audiobook. I’ve never read anything by this author and I saw several negative reviews comparing this book to his other works. I didn’t find anything at all bad to comment on. There was humor – some slightly off-color but I’m sure it was nothing worse than what kids will see and hear on TV these days – and there were some serious and dark things that happened with the beast. Since I’m over sixty, and don’t have any children, I really can’t give an opinion as to the suitability of this story for young people but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
