It is a way of life and thought that seems natural, inevitable, and inescapable. As David Wootton shows, it is anything but. About the author
David Wootton is Anniversary Professor of History at the University of York. His books include The Invention of Science: A New History of the Scientific Revolution; Bad Medicine: Doctors Doing Harm since Hippocrates; and Paolo Sarpi: Between Renaissance and Enlightenment.
Charles Constant is an actor whose professional storytelling career began at the age of thirteen, when he became an Actors' Equity Association apprentice. An accomplished audiobook narrator, Charles has recorded many popular titles, including How to Win at the Sport of Business by Mark Cuban. He lives in Los Angeles.
