Australian born composer Adam Plack has had a passion and natural talent for music all his life. Despite growing up playing violin, piano, guitar and singing opera from a very young age, his first love was improvisation and playing jazz piano by ear.
Long being drawn to the soul of the Australian outback, Plack followed his passion to the bush, living with Aboriginal communities and playing the didgeridoo. In 1995, this life-changing experience blossomed into Plack’s nomination for an ARIA (Australian Grammy), for his Aboriginal inspired CD entitled “Nomad”. In 2001, Plack won the ASCAP R&B Song of the Year award with his tribal Australian-fusion song entitled “With You,” which reached #2 on the Billboard charts in the USA.
In 1991, Plack moved to New York and founded Australian Music International, which later led to co-founding Rasa Music, a label dedicated to culturally-diverse contemporary music projects. He then began working on several albums in partnership with Deepak Chopra, such as the highly acclaimed poetry CD “A Gift of Love”, featuring Madonna, Demi Moore and Anjelica Houston. In 2001, Plack composed the score for the film “Perfume,” directed by Emmy-nominated director Michael Rymer. The music score was later released as an operatic R&B album, entitled “CoCo De Mer”.
Having written, composed and produced over ten albums, and scored several TV and film projects, such as “Revolution” for Sci-fi/CBS, the feature film “Undertow” with Philip Glass and contributing to the “Charlie’s Angels” film score, Adam Plack reunited with Deepak Chopra in 2010 andco-founded Los Angeles-based record label, Play it By Ear Music. Ever passionate for his art, he continues to produce albums and score film and television projects.
