Audio-liburu honi buruz

Churchill, a renowned sufferer of depression called it ‘The Black Dog’.

It has had several names over the years, and it seems to be more common than ever. Luckily, it can be treated fairly easily too, if the sufferer knows that he or she has a problem and also seeks help, which is far too often not the case.

Most people ‘snap out of it’ with a little help from their friends, although it can and does return. Others can’t bear it any longer and take the ultimate escape route.

However, depression is a complex mental health condition characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, emptiness, and hopelessness. It affects an individual's emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being, often leading to a loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities and difficulties in daily functioning. Common symptoms include sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, and a lack of energy.

Depression can result from various factors, such as genetic predisposition, environmental stressors, and chemical imbalances in the brain. Early intervention and evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy and medication, can be effective in managing depression, fostering resilience, and promoting a path towards recovery and improved quality of life.
