When Kinari Webb first travelled to Indonesian Borneo at 21, she was both awestruck by the beauty of her surroundings and heartbroken by the rainforest destruction she witnessed. As she got to know the local communities, she realised that their need to pay for expensive health care led directly to rampant logging, which in turn imperilled their health and safety further. After medical school, Dr Webb returned to Borneo, where she and her non-profit teams partnered with the local communities to find solutions to both protect the rainforests and improve their lives. But a near-fatal box jellyfish sting forced Dr Webb to spend the next four years fighting for her life – a fight that would lead her to rethink everything. About the author
Kinari developed the vision for Health In Harmony on an undergraduate trip, studying orangutans at Gunung Palung National Park in Indonesian Borneo in 1993. Dr. Webb graduated from Yale University School of Medicine with honors and then founded Health In Harmony in 2005 to support the combined human and environmental work that she envisioned. Kinari also co-founded Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI) with Hotlin Ompusunggu and Antonia Gorog.
Suehyla El-Attar is an Atlanta-based award-winning actor who has appeared across stage and film. She has previously appeared in I, Tonya and Ant-man and the Wasp and has narrated several audiobooks, specialising in non-fiction.
