About the author

Dr Manny Noakes is currently a senior research scientist at the CSIRO Food and Nutritional Sciences, South Australia, where she is the Project Leader for Diet and Lifestyle Programs and manages the Nutrition Behaviour and Health capability.

Dr Peter Clifton is the scientific director for clinical nutrition, obesity and related conditions at the CSIRO. He is also professor of medicine at the University of Adelaide, and practises as an endocrinologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Flinders Medical Centre. His personal research interests include diet, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and optimal diets for people with insulin resistance and diabetes. He is the co-author of The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet Book 2 and The CSIRO Healthy Heart Program.

Humphrey Bower is a gifted and versatile actor. Since obtaining a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature at Oxford University, he has worked extensively in theatre, television and audiobook narration. Humphrey won the prestigious Audie Award (US) for his performance of The Family Frying Pan by Bryce Courtenay, and was shortlisted for an Audie Award for his performances of Gould's Book of Fish by Richard Flanagan and Brother Fish by Bryce Courtenay. Humphrey's sensitive and intelligent readings are highly regarded and he is well-known for his capacity to perform a variety of accents.

Odette Joannidis has been working as an actor and voice-over artist in Australia and overseas since 1997. She has performed for La Mama, Melbourne Workers Theatre, NYID, MTC, Playbox and Theatre At Risk. In 2000 she received an Ian Potter travel grant to further her artistic development overseas. Odette returned to Australia in 2002 and has extended her talents to news reading and producing voice overs.
