About this audiobook

A revised and updated edition of Emily Nagoski’s game-changing New York Times bestseller Come As You Are, featuring new information and research on mindfulness, desire, and pleasure that will radically transform your sex life.

For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently—and far less seriously—than its male counterpart.

That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them. In the years since the book’s initial publication, countless women have learned through Nagoski’s accessible and informative guide that things like stress, mood, trust, and body image are not peripheral factors in a woman’s sexual wellbeing; they are central to it—and that even if you don’t always feel like it, you are already sexually whole by just being yourself. This revised and updated edition continues that mission with new information and advanced research, demystifying and decoding the science of sex so that everyone can create a better sex life and discover more pleasure than you ever thought possible.

Empowers mens self loathing and women to believe they deserve it. Everything a woman wants is glorified as perfect and beautiful. Everything men want is driven by a deplorable patriarchal narcissism. I was a self proclaimed feminist before reading this book. After I finally endured the last assault on men I am now of the opinion women are being taught they're perfect in every way, absolved of any self introspection and every problem they've ever endured is the result of men trying to own and control them. I hate myself and this book. Please don't inflict this on your children or your relationships. Find something kind, understanding and gender balanced. We want to strive for equality.... not guilt, blame and hate. I think I understand what you were trying to achieve, but please revise this book by removing the man bashing and focus on the science. Edit: I challenged my wife on some of the issues I have with this book. She became defensive and asked for separation.

i would say this is a great book, definitely more aimed towards women tho. I'm a married man and listened with an open mind and i found that i have learnt a lot too. I can fully understand my wife's brakes now which in turn leads to more understanding and ultimately a better sex life and deeper connection.

I recommend this book to EVERYONE! I read a comment that said it was harsh on men, and I was a little hesitant because of that, but there was nothing of the sort. In fact, my boyfriend and I often discuss this book together, and he's never had a problem with anything she wrote. She does talk about how society and some men have caused some issues for female sexuality, but she never says it's all of society or even all men. She helped me better understand why sex was so important to me. Not just because of my love language but because of my attachment to my partner. She helped me finally get all of myself on one page about non-concordance. Even though I knew nothing was wrong with me, it didn't stop the irrational thoughts in the back of my mind. And she helped me stay in the moment, release pressure, and simply enjoy pleasure with my partner. There is no reason to hesitate. Let this book help you achieve happiness and sexual confidence, and pleasure. I wish I could thank her in person.
