They say I’m lucky to be alive. But the only thing I can remember are the faces of my husband and baby. The husband and baby they insist don’t exist ... The anonymous note buried deep in a bunch of flowers I feel sure I was never meant to find – with just two words on it: I’m sorry... What really happened to me? Is this woman really my sister? And if she’s not: who is she, what does she want from me – and what has she done to my family ...?

Melanie Crawley is a British actor, narrator and voice artist based in Sheffield. She has appeared on stage at Crucible Theatre, Hope Mill Theatre & Theatre by The Lake and toured the north of England as ‘Tannie’ in ‘Tannie & Tannie’. She has narrated 90 audiobooks across multiple genres including psychological thrillers, romance, literary fiction and memoir, winning an Earphones Award for ‘Halfmoon Lane’ by Paula Hillman in 2024. She is known for her northern humour and also writes and records her own audio-drama and comedy.
