This was a good prequel story. It’s just enough to give you an idea of these two characters and what they might be feeling for each other. Joe Arden is a long time favorite narrator for me. Callie Dalton is newer for me. I’ve only listened to her a couple of times. It does take me about have of the story to really enjoy her narration. Excited to listen You Had Your Chance Lee Burrows to see what happens with these two.

False Start is the perfect title for this new adult college romance. It's the prequel to book one in Piper Rayne's Kingsman Football Stars, but technically, you don't have to listen to this one to understand everything going on in the first book. That said, it gives a good foundation for how Lee and Shayna started and what led to everything that comes later. I found both characters likable, even if I didn't like Lee's actions. It's a quick listen.

I've been looking forward to this series since Piper Rayne announced it in a newsletter. And this short novella that introduces us to the woman that Lee Burrows can't get out of his system... Shayna his college tutor. If you've read any of the other series by Piper Rayne you know we've met Lee briefly in a couple of other books, most recently in the author's hockey series. Joe Arden and Callie Dalton do a phenomenal job of bringing Lee and Shayna to life!
