This book had potential. There were areas I did find myself enjoying the scientific marvels and interaction between the main character and a few others, not to mention the many felines. I also did think the underlying premise would have been a book I, under other circumstances, would have thoroughly been engrossed in. However, that is not what happened here. Unfortunately, from beginning to end, I felt frustrated. There was a constant gap with what was left in the author's head, assuming we knew what was happening and their intentions and leaving us grasping at straws, trying to fill in the blanks. It felt like trying to deal with a teenager. They have a million things going on in their heads and magically feel you should know what is happening at all times without them communicating. This was a free book. It was frustrating, yet it had some intrigue to it as well. I hesitate to recommend the book. If nothing else is on your shelf,... give it a try and see what you think. 📚📚
