About this audiobook

Inspired by the greats who are exceptional at what they do best against the forces of their demons.

Found dead, shot with a handgun, National Hockey League hopeful, Devon Chase. Devon, after his father was the next in his Prince Albert, Saskatchewan family, to play in the big league.

They arrested Cindy Johnsen, the gun owner, within hours of Devon’s discovery. Cindy attended the school of nursing and was a contender for the Olympic Biathlon competition. Cindy had become a professional shooter in her teens as her father tried to channel his troubled daughter’s energy constructively by taking her to the shooting range with him.

Hours after Cindy’s arrest and a day after Devon died, Noah Dorion, a young Aboriginal man, artist and carpenter, disappeared.

Cindy Johnsen, a troubled young woman who found sobriety, learned from one serious relapse that one drink is one too many for her. She recovered, not without life issues.

Cindy is really a very humble woman who will reach out to help anyone. Perhaps, in her kind but young, naïve ways, she once had a way of setting her own traps. After a chain of events that led her to become a fugitive, she met the kind, elderly farmer, Russ McEnery and his family.

Russ knew exactly what Candy came to him for. No questions needed. And he wasn’t about to turn her into the police.

Cindy set out to on an obsessive man hunt while stalked by the very elusive man she wanted to catch.

About the author

Born after World War Two I grew up on a mixed farm near the small towns and villages of rural Saskatchewan.

The heavy equipment trade took me about the four western provinces, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. My work as a heavy equipment technician crossed industries of forestry, road construction, mining, oil field, agriculture, northern winter ice roads, and mineral exploration.

My interest in writing kindled when I worked in estimating and billing for the last dealer who put up with me before retirement. After completing a basic writing class, I began piecing together short stories.
