Colorblindness ignores the realities of race and the history of injustice. On the other hand, antiracism centers racial concerns and in so doing often alienates people who need to be involved in the process. An excellent book. In our polarized culture of extreme perspectives on racial issues, Dr. Yancey's collaborative conversations approach is very balanced and wise. I hope this book will be widely read, discussed and applied, and that it will encourage further research on this important topic.
About the author
George Yancey is a professor at the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University, specializing in race/ethnicity and religion. He works to promote collaborative communication as a solution to racial unrest. His books include Compromising Scholarship, One Faith No Longer, and Hostile Environment.
Calvin Robinson has worked in the religious field in various roles: radio personality, conference director, public speaker, and currently, pastor. As a narrator, Calvin's approachable style and command of many subjects gives listeners the confidence to journey with him as he communicates, informs, and entertains.
