This is my favorite Halo book by far. The opening of the book immediately hooked me. Karen Traviss's ability to write a subtle sad, throat tightening story without forcing it at all is the best I've ever seen. Glasslands and The Thursday war were both great, but Mortal Dictata is my favorite due to humanizing the spartands and the story with Staffan, an amazing father made victim after his daughter was kidnapped. I really recommend everyone read the kilo 5 trilogy. I also really hope to see and read more stories about kilo 5 Also too many halo books are narrated by Scott Brick when he has horrible voice acting. BUT the kilo 5 trilogy is narrated by Euan Morton, and he is a million times better. Euan has an amazing ability to voice out and make each and every character unique.

Kilo-Five as a trilogy was fantastic. A beautiful well written dive into some of the more darker themes in the series and on the concept of morality in general. I will miss all of its characters. 10/10. The person reading the book did a fantastic job doing the characters voices as well.

An excellent ending to a superb trilogy. If you haven't listened to or read the Kilo 5 Trilogy I highly suggest it.
