About this audiobook

An original full-length novel set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times bestselling video game series!

Find. Claim. Profit. In a post-Covenant War galaxy littered with scrap, it’s the salvager’s motto—and Rion Forge certainly made her mark on the trade. All she wanted was to grow her business and continue the search for her long-lost father, but her recent discovery of a Forerunner debris field at the edge of human-occupied space has now put her squarely in the crosshairs of the Office of Naval Intelligence and the violent remains of the Covenant. Each faction has a desire to lay claim to the spoils of ancient technology, whatever the cost, sending Rion and the crew of the Ace of Spades on a perilous venture—one that unexpectedly leads them straight into danger far greater than anything they’ve ever encountered…

The narrator was terrible for this book. Not saying she's bad at her job, or that it was a bad book by any means; but she was a bad choice for the book. Every friggin' sentence ends in an almost painful angst of a sound. It sounds like I'm listening to the actress who played in "Strangers with Candy". I had to pause the audiobook multiple times because I was becoming frustrated at the narration. The voice given to Rion on this diminished the character's strength in my opinion. THIS IS HALO

Love the book the 1 star is for the voice/ reader... she sounds robotic, and her reading sounds forced and dry, it feels like when she hits a period she comes to a complete and abrupt stop and won't continue for a full second... it makes it REALLY hard to actually get into the story... She mispronounces things, not to big of an issue. the voices the uses for the characters are different than that of whats already set by other readers and the video games. I'd much rather have bought the ebook and have Google assistant read it for me...

Unfortunately the worst halo book of their vast series. The novel tends to drag on and then over project, in an attempt to humanize the characters. The lack of military action or engagement, or really any action at all makes this novel a space opera and not a military science fiction. I found my self rolling my eyes again and again to the point where 5/6th of the way through the book I have up and moves on. Audiobook ID: AQAAAEBMJAxkUM
