About this audiobook

This little gem of a story by Hans Christian Andersen reveals the ultimate test to find out whether or not a girl is a true princess. It is short, but sweet, and an enduring favourite. The English text is the Andrew Lang version, from his Yellow Fairy book, first published in 1894.

I actually played that princess at the age of around 5 or 6!! I remember standing centre-stage in my princess costume of (I think) frills and net, with a pile of mattresses stacked up behind me, in the corner slightly to my left. This reading was much shorter than I thought it would be, but it gave me such good memories of being a tiny girl, SO pleased to be the princess for the day, with the audience of mothers (and maybe some fathers too) proudly applauding their little actors and actresses!
