Heavy Petting

Fletcher and Jordan gave me so many feels, a few tears and left my heart a melted, swooning pile of pure happiness. I think this book and really this series delivers every single thing you could want from a great rom-com and then the highly skilled and crafty author, ups the game and takes everything to a whole other level of superb awesomeness. The characters are complex and endearing, the story is fun and involving, the emotions are deep and plentiful, the drama is heart tugging, the humor is charming and heart felt and the heat is sultry and soulful. Add in ample dollops of cuteness and sweetness, strong family ties, massive small town appeal, some delightful sprinkles of quirkiness, a wonderful cast of supporting characters that are lovable and unforgettable, colorful bits of crazy and zany and a irresistible menagerie of adorable, scene stealing animals and you have yourself a thoroughly delightful, extremely potent and highly addictive combination that will have you desperate to return to the bayou, to Autre and to The Landry family again and again and again. I loved the narration on this book. Having dual narrators helps me to connect with and become fully immersed in an audiobook, so this is a huge plus for me. I though that each of these narrators gave a terrific performance and I found them very pleasing to listen to.

I read this book before listening to the audio, but hearing Zachary Johnson and Mollie Stark bring Fletcher and Jordan to life is so much better. I don't think I've ever heard these two narrators before but I thought they were great. Fletcher and Jordan have been lifelong friends even though she's been involved with another one of their friends who is now an up and coming country recording artist. When she's proposed to onstage on live tv but with the wrong name coming out of his mouth, Fletcher immediately goes to Jordan's rescue even flying to Las Vegas. They end up getting married in Las Vegas and even though they know each other well, being married brings different things to learn about each other and themselves. This series is so good and it's even better in audio.
