Annie Ashworth is on maternity leave from her police job, enjoying spending time with baby Alfie. Perhaps her days at home are a little boring, but after all of the horrific crimes she’s witnessed, that’s fine with her.
But when she starts having strange dreams – dreams that turn out to be linked to a local murder – she can’t stop herself from digging. There’s an eerie connection to a serial killer from the 1950s, and Annie fears that the same dark forces are back.
And maybe it’s just new-mum tiredness playing tricks on her, but she’s been noticing a cold presence lingering around Alfie late at night. Could her baby be the target of whatever evil is haunting them? And will she have what it takes to protect him?
