About this audiobook

A Court above the clouds. Ten fae champions. A kingdom to be won. Torn from Thorne's side, Aster finds herself bound to Faolan by the magic of a faerie bargain. To pay off her debts, he expects her to compete in the Alder Trials, a deadly competition to determine the next King or Queen of Faerie. And not only is Aster a human competing against the impossibly powerful heirs to the Fae Courts, she soon discovers that Thorne will also be competing . . . Against her. Exposed to the cruel, cunning politics of the Fae Courts, Aster must risk everything both in and out of the trials. And at the end of it all, which will she choose-a faerie kingdom or her heart?

About the author

Helena Rookwood spends her time poring over old books about the Old Ways, when she imagines everything might have been just a little bit more magical, and greedily tearing through more recent books by other fantasy authors. Her books include the Carnival of Fae series and the River Witch series.

Elm Vince is a YA fantasy author who writes stories about magical worlds, fae, and fairy tales. When she's not hunched over her laptop writing, you'll find her road-tripping around Scotland, attempting yoga, and befriending other people's dogs and cats.

Lucy Brownhill is a British actress and voice artist currently based in Amsterdam. She graduated from Drama Studio London in 2016 and also trained in screen acting at the Bristol Old Vic theater school. She has narrated over forty audiobooks and loves to bring stories to life.
