Hermann Selchow
I was socialized (as they say these days) in a country before that time. I joined the SED at the age of 19 and left again in 1986. I was in the Protestant youth group, refused to do reserve service, lost my job, did odd jobs for the Protestant church, was visited on an irregular basis by two men in trench coats. The usual games of power. So nothing that hundreds/thousands of others haven't experienced the same or worse. I wasn't the type to walk around with my head bowed and my fist raised. I simply took the "bigwigs" at their word. That was enough to humiliate them and make me unpopular with them.
Actually, i live near Hamburg in Germany.
